Virtual & Online Jewellery Making Workshops
What is happening in our crazy world? It’s actually beginning to get rather scary. On top of fear we are met with boredom. While we self-isolate at home do you question if it will begin to take it toll on our mental well-being?
I can’t imagine fear and boredom mix too well, therefore I wanted to give you some more information on our virtual jewellery making workshops to keep you busy during this uncertain time.
Our jewellery making workshops usually run at DrinkShopDo in London, The Stores in Chelmsford and Abigails in Ingatestone. These workshops will teach you how to create a sterling silver ring or necklace completely from scratch. Did you know that we also throw in prosecco and canapes or a Cornish Cream tea to make the event extra special?
Our workshops are very popular and a lovely way to spend valuable time with friends, family or even getting to know a group of strangers. We have even won a Gold Award with Craft Courses, alongside a whole list of wonderful 5* reviews, and because we have had to put our face to face workshops on hold, we thought we would go VIRTUALLY.
Our virtual workshops will run on a Friday night 7- 9pm or a Saturday afternoon 2- 4pm as they did before this pandemic. YOU will need to supply your own prosecco & canapes/cakes ☺ .. and we will still supply the rest!
Our virtual sterling silver necklace workshops are totally bespoke and personal to you. During the two-hour workshop you will have the opportunity to get creative and practice the method of wax carving before imprinting your chosen designs and wording into the pendant. When you book onto one of our virtual workshops, you will receive all the tools and equipment in the post for you to keep as this will prevent any cross contamination and we also sterilise all of the equipment prior to posting in order to protect you.
Within your kit, you will receive three different wax discs, one is for practising and the other two are to create different shaped and size pendants. You then pick your favourite piece and send it back to us to have it converted into sterling silver. On top of that, you will receive an email with a ZOOM link to your private two hour workshop on your chosen date where you will be able to speak to me face to face (kind of), share ideas with the other participants, put the world to rights, and allow me to teach you the methods of lost wax carving though a step by step process. We only allow up to 10 people per workshop to keep it intimate and allow for maximum learning opportunity.
If you prefer to create your necklace in your own time and at your own pace then you will receive the link to our YouTube tutorial which highlights the key elements of lost wax carving.
Following the workshop your wax carved necklace will be converted into silver and will be posted back to you usually within two weeks (however the timescale may vary due to current Covid-19 situation). For a small extra charge your piece can be plated with 18ct gold.
PRIVATE PARTIES-
Life still goes on and people still have milestone birthdays, anniversaries, hen parties etc. If you can’t be with one another in a physical form, then how about virtually? We are now taking bookings for private jewellery workshops for you & your friends. Like before, we will have a two-hour session via ZOOM. You will be able to see one another, chat, drink wine and share your ideas while I teach you how to create the most perfect piece of sentimental jewellery. This also includes children’s parties (ages 10+)… just without the wine!
For parties of 5 or more we can offer you a reduced price per person. Instead of £68pp you will pay £60pp… saving you £8. We are getting booked up with private parties already, so if you would like to secure a place then please email info@daintylondon.com
