I designed The Mermaid's Coin for every woman who has been thrown about by life and kept going anyway.
This 2cm solid disc - available in solid gold, gold vermeil, and sterling silver - is both a piece of jewellery and a piece of mythology. The front bears a bold seashell motif, proud and unapologetic, while the back is scattered with tiny shells pressed softly into the metal, like treasures washed in by the tide. Around the edge, I've had inscribed the Latin words Fluctuat nec mergitur - she is tossed by the waves, but she does not sink.
Think of it as your talisman. Your currency. The kind of coin a mermaid keeps close - not for luck, but as proof of what she's survived and what she's worth.
Handmade with care, this is a piece you'll reach for on the days you need reminding of your own strength, and on the days you simply want to feel beautiful. Both are equally valid.

Dainty London Jewellery was founded by award-winning designer Jade after leaving her career as a Children's Heart Transplant Specialist. Inspired by a childhood spent exploring the Cornish coastline, each collection reflects the textures, colours and treasures of the sea. Every design is created to celebrate nature, design and timeless style, resulting in jewellery that's made to be worn, loved and passed down through generations.
