I designed The Mermaid's Coin for every woman who has been thrown about by life and kept going anyway.
This 2cm solid 9ct gold disc on a 18ch solid gold Satellite chain - is both a piece of jewellery and a piece of mythology. The front bears a bold seashell motif, proud and unapologetic, while the back is scattered with tiny shells pressed softly into the metal, like treasures washed in by the tide. Around the edge, I've had inscribed the Latin words Fluctuat nec mergitur - she is tossed by the waves, but she does not sink.
Think of it as your talisman. Your currency. The kind of coin a mermaid keeps close - not for luck, but as proof of what she's survived and what she's worth.
Handmade with care, this is a piece you'll reach for on the days you need reminding of your own strength, and on the days you simply want to feel beautiful. Both are equally valid.
