FOUNDER STORY

From the quiet shores of Cornwall to the workshops of London, Dainty London grew from a simple love of the sea and thoughtful design. Founded by me, Jade, a former NHS children’s heart transplant specialist, my brand is shaped by my childhood days along rugged coastlines and my family history in fishing. What began as a creative pause from demanding work slowly became a fine jewellery studio, focused on capturing gentle details inspired by the ocean and everyday moments by the water.

HERITAGE

I grew up in a Cornish fishing family and I learned to respect the quiet strength of the sea and the patience it asks for. Shaped by this, and by years of careful work in paediatric medicine, I create each piece with gentle precision. My jewellery carries small echoes of the elements - in soft textures, flowing curves, and subtle details that quietly nod to coastal heritage and the rhythms of the tide... sand beneath bare feet... The hush of waves folded into metal and light.

My dedication to quality and sustainable practices have been recognised by British Vogue, Tatler, Stylist, and The Telegraph. I feel truly honoured that my pieces have been worn by some of the world’s most influential women, including Kylie Minogue and Emeli Sandé and on the Oscars red carpet. My work in creating accessible, thoughtful luxury while staying true to sustainable values was recently highlighted by Forbes, which featured me among inspiring ‘Female Founders to Celebrate’ for Women’s History Month.

Founder Timeline

From NHS heart transplant care to sustainable British fine jewellery - Jade’s journey to Dainty London.

2012

Children’s Heart Transplant Specialist (London)

I began my career as a children’s heart transplant specialist in London, supporting families through life-changing care. Outside the hospital, I made handmade jewellery as a creative hobby - the earliest spark behind what would become Dainty London Jewellery.

2014

Goldsmiths’ Centre Jewellery Training (London)

I enrolled in a jewellery course at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London, learning the intricacies of stone setting, fine jewellery design, and high-end craftsmanship. This period shaped the foundations of Dainty London’s British jewellery design style and meticulous attention to detail.

2018

Motherhood, Burnout, and the Birth of Dainty London

After having my first baby, I felt burnt out from working in the NHS and decided to build something of my own. I launched Dainty London, investing my savings into a new chapter focused on sustainable jewellery, thoughtful design, and accessible luxury jewellery made to last.

2019

London Fashion Week Breakthrough

Dainty London was featured at London Fashion Week, a pivotal moment that helped launch my brand onto the national stage. The collection captured attention for its refined, modern feel - dainty gold jewellery, elevated everyday pieces, and a distinctly British point of view.

BRAND ETHOs

We are on a mission to kill off boring
jewellery.

Right now, the market is split in two - you’ve got mass-produced pieces that all look the
same, and then traditional fine jewellery that feels outdated, overly polished, and out of reach. There’s nothing in the middle that actually feels personal anymore.

That’s the gap we are filling.

We are building a brand that sits between fast fashion and fine jewellery - but with a much stronger identity. It’s jewellery that feels cool, not conventional. Elevated, but not untouchable.

Because people don’t want perfect anymore - they want something that feels like theirs.

Dainty London is not just jewellery. It is a journey… A quiet escape to sunlit shores, a spark of fire at twilight, a grounding touch of earth beneath your feet, a whisper of wind in open skies.

A keepsake of memory and magic, a reminder of strength and freedom, worn close to the skin.

“Jewellery for women who move like water, glow like fire, bloom like the earth, and fly like the wind.”

Dainty London was born in the spaces between elements and dreams - where sunlight dances on water, flames shimmer in the hearth, wind whispers across open fields, and the earth holds the secrets of centuries.

Each piece carries the power of the elements: the fluid grace of waves, the bold spark of fire, the grounded wisdom of stone and soil, and the airy freedom of the open sky.
